Dalog has been established since December 1981. In the time we have been in business we have undertaken all kinds of work. We have a reputation for geting the job done. |

Shown below is the range of Automatic water sampling equipment we manufactured when we first commenced trading. Whilst we no longer manufacture this equipment it is a good example of the sort of project we are able to undertake, combining mechanics, electronics and micro-controllers, together with all the support skills required to design a unit which can be easily produced.. As the market for this type of equipment became saturated Dalog diversified and from 1985 onwards Dalog has progressively branched out into Internet, Computer, Electronics & Electro-mechanical Services, including the design and prototype production of specialist equipment, and the supply, installation and maintenance of PC equipment. Please see the Projects page for more details. In 1982 we commenced manufacture of water sampling equipment, using a microprocessor based controller and a peristaltic pump to take accurate volume liquid samples at pre-programmed times. At the time this equipment was technically highly advanced compared with our competitors equipment. The equipment was designed to operate from battery power for a considerable length of time, up to three months. One setup had a solar panel to recharge the main battery, and was left in position to sample flash floods resulting from sudden high rainfall. Under these conditions reliability is very important. |

The unit was programmable to operate over a wide range of time intervals and using a wide range of sample sizes, and was programmable to include a flush cycle to reduce cross contamination of sample if required. The sample size was controlled using a rotation sensor on the pump. This gave sample sizes repeatable to within approximately 2.5ml on a typical sample size of 500ml. |

We also designed a range of equipment to use with the sampler. A bottler unit with 24 x 1l bottles, allowing samples to be tied to the hour of the day or other periods depending on the programming of the sampler. The bottler is the large yellow box shown next to the Sampler | |

This machine is the 'B' series sampler - it included a removable LCD controller, which prevented unauthorised tampering with the programme. A number of storable programme locations were provided so that the machine could be set up for many locations and simply be put in place and started, previous settings being remembered. |

Shown on the left is a special timer accessory made for the sampler. It is used when the sample depth is greater than the 9m of the basic sampler. The timer starts a borehole pump which fills a small container with the liquid to be sampled. After a programmable period of time the unit then triggers the sampler which samples from the small container. In this way the sampler takes a representative sample from considerable depths. |
